A Very Happy Birthday and Salute to one of my favorite actresses and Beauty Icon Gwyneth Paltrow!

Her unique stunning look and down-to-earth Charm had her once engaged to Brad Pitt. Now happily married to Cold Play's lead singer Chris Martin, Gwyneth is the epitome of class and beauty balancing career, family, and fun!When her and her husband aren't hanging our with their best friends Jay-Z and Beyonce, Gwyneth is working on her blog and cookbook!

Orange Crush! How to Wear the New "IN" Color

The Trend : Orange makeup, and I am totally diggin it. A lot of women are afraid to try orange, because they think they couldn't pull it off, which is ironic because shades of orange are flattering to every skin tone!

Tip 1: Find your perfect shade. There are light peaches, sunsets, rich bright textures, matte, frosty, and glossy. Go to you favorite makeup store and have fun experimenting!

Tip 2: You can put it anywhere! The awesome thing about orange is that its not purely a lip, cheek, or eye color you can wear it all over in different ways. Here are some of my favorite looks!

Beyonce' Launches Pulse & The Last Season of Desperate Housewives Premieres !!!!

    Yesterday, was a big day for beauty and a big day in Hollywood. My favorite celebs stepped out with makeup at a perfect 10!




Mommy- to -Be, Beyonce's face is glowing rosy, and flawless at the event she hosted to launch her new fragrance Pulse. Her makeup artist, whom is also her cousin did a stellar job! Of course, Beyonce had an amazing outfit to match the style and shape of her new scent. She named the perfume Pulse, because she said it's what she thinks of when she performs. It's "exciting" and "electrifying" like when she's on stage! I can't wait to try it out.


The next big news is bitter sweet for me. My all-time favorite show Desperate Housewives hosted its very last premiere. The new season launches this Sunday, the 25th and they have announced it's time to kiss the girls good-bye, as this is the final season. 

I have laughed, cried, and cheered a long with the women on Wisteria Lane for years, and I will be glued every Sunday at 9, until the end. With 8 wildly successful seasons, the show has had a good run, especially after adding Vanessa Williams to the cast. Her makeup artist of 16 years, Kate Best, once again did a phenomenal job. I got the inside scoop.

Makeup Monday: The 2011 Emmy's Best Makeup!

Happy Makeup Monday Beauties!

           Last night, beauty triumphed on the red carpet as the stars came down for the annual prime time Emmy awards. Here are some of the best looks:

One of my idols, actress and activist, Kerry Washington looks absolutely stunning with out-stretched lashes, glowing skin, and a powerful red lipstick. Kerry Washington prides herself on living as a political activist and calls herself a "responsible American"choosing to drive a hybrid, and live a simpler life to protect the environment.

 She's raised money to help stop violence against women, lobbied Congress for more arts funding and campaigned for President Barack Obama. Now that is TRULY BEAUTIFUL to me. We Salute you Kerry!

Another beauty on the red carpet last night was the fabulous and interesting Gwyneth Paltrow. After two kids, Gwyneth can still look great in a sexy lace mid-drift! and her face is fabulous! This is not the first time Gwyneth rocks the no-makeup, makeup look. It just works for her.

To get the look: Elizabeth Arden's loose bronzing powder, and Benefit High Beam, both have a natural  touch of pink for a rosy glow.


The gorgeous SofiaVergara wore a beautiful polished look to balance out her loud and over-the-top character she plays on television. Loving her look!

How to Look Hot on a Rainy Day! Beauty&Fashion tips for wet weather

   All right! I know my east-coast beauties in particular are singing  "Rain, Rain go away!", as it continues to pour-down daily. Rain is always associated with grey and gloomy, but us movers and shakers can't let it be so. Just because the weather is not beautiful, doesn't mean you shouldn't be! Here are a few tips on how to be a chic ray of sunshine during the wet season.......

Tip 1: Just Add Lipstick

 I swear this tip is 50% physical and 50% mental ! Adding a richly-colored powerful lipstick or gloss always gives me a dash of extra confidence and a mental boost to keep away those rainy day blues.  Endorsed by Ms. Sasha Fierce herself, also known as Beyonce', L'oreal Infallible Lipwear will look great and last long know matter the weather.You can get these at any drug store for under $12.00 bucks!

Tip 2:  Go ahead, spray away! 
 
Well it could be frizz serum, hairspray, or a mix of the two. I know hair can get frizzy and you want that perfect ponytail, but avoid largely water-based products  products like hair puddings, jam, and creams on rainy days. These can actually make the humidity hit your hair worse, and will drip into your face possibly causing break-outs. Experts recommend treating your hair with oils and serums on rainy days, using a strong hair-spray to keep it looking chic and neat. Tip 3: A good trench goes along way

Timeless trench coats are never going out of style. You can look elegant and effortlessly chic, rocking a trench coat on a rainy-day. Camel-colored trench coats have been all over the runways this season, but you don't have to spend a fortune. Vintage and Thrift shops are the best places to find classic trench coats for less! Pair your trench with a great silk scarf and/or a cool umbrella to really set it off.

Tip 4: These Boots Are Made for Walking

In high school, I was known for my  bright pink rain boots! I can't stress enough that great rain boots are an awesome investment. You can brave the weather with no fear, feel comfortable and still look fashionable. There are so many colors, patterns, and styles to choose from.

Stick-On Eyeliner! What will they think of next ?!?!

                 Not only is today a special Makeup Monday because its the Labor day holiday, but today I bring you breaking beauty news: Eyeliner has been streamlined!

                                             Leave it to Dior cosmetics, to move the future of beauty forward with stick-on eyeliner.It's true, one of most women's main beauty blunders is that  they don't have a sturdy hand to create the bold-lined looks without the help of a makeup artist, or their  eyeliner smudges throughout the day. But how much would you pay to have the perfect lined-look?



 

 

For $55 buck Dior's innovative Velvet Eye Kit of graphic stick-on eyelines, don't smudge, don't move, and can be re-used over- and- over again. Talk about high-tech! The kits feature several cool eyeliner looks like winged, cat-eye, and they even have some be-jewled stick-ons with tiny colored crystals, for the show-girl in us all.

 

I have to admit that I'm a bit skeptical about how long they will last before peeling off, but then again it's Dior, and they don't half-step.

 

When beauty, conveinience, and art combine like this I get quite excited, and I wonder what more is to come! Dramatic eyeliner is so in this season.

At any drugstore of Target for $8.99  this amazing long-lasting liner is easy to apply and adds so much pop. I wore the burgundy color recently and got a ridiculous amount of compliments. Moreover, all of the shades are designed to compliment natural eye-colors with divine pigmentation. A must have!

Sleeping Beauty: Nighttime Beauty Tips

   When Beauties wake up in the morning and head out into the world they take extra care washing,toning, moisturizing, and putting on their makeup with pride. However, not so much effort goes into the nigh-time routine, which is totally a big deal! Our skin braves the sun, pollution, and our hand contact all day, and at night it needs some revitalization. Several studies report that women who do not practice a night-time skin care routine are 10 times more likely to have puffy and/or darkened under eye circles, and an increase in wrinkles, and more frequent break-outs. Many of us know how to prep their skin for the daytime, and have heard the importance of using oil-controllers and  protective SPF,but surprisingly very few of us know the magnitude of night-time skin care practices and products. It may take a little extra time, but loving the skin your in is totally worth it. Here are some night-time skincare tips, to have you  glowing like a true sleeping beauty!


Sleeping Beauty Tip 1: Hold off on the fluids before bed!
            Of course we try to get our 8 glasses of water a day in, before we call it a night, but drinking a lot of water before sleeping can actually cause puffy and dark eye circles. When you sleep at night, the thin area under your eyes, retains water and fluid, which unfortunately can give you the raccoon look in the morning. It's best to stop drinking liquids at least two hours before bed time. Avoid caffeine at night at all cost, for both a good night's sleep and clear skin. A great nighttime eye cream can also aid in getting rid of dark circles and puffiness.

Sleeping Beauty Tip 2: Moisture is KEY!
         Dehydration is the biggest problem our skin faces at night. Putting a hydrating moisturizing cream  or a hydrating serum on your face at night is a major factor in slowing down the aging process, and keep your skin crystal clear. There are so many great choices out there, depending on age and budget range. Look for one with collagen and retinoids
(vitamins A,C,&K) to keep pores small and to minimize dark spots. Our skin attempts to restore itself while we sleep and actually absorbs serums and creams more deeply at night!

Sleeping Beauty Tip 3: NEVER sleep in makeup!

      Sleeping in makeup is the number one cause of breakouts in women. As tempting as it is to crash after coming home from a long day at work, or a long night of partying-it is detrimental to your skin to sleep in makeup. Your skin is fighting against the chemicals in makeup at night, which ends up in stretched, and clogged pores and oily skin. Sleeping in mascara and eyeliner can also cause your lashes to weaken and shed, as well as irritating eye infections. A great makeup remover like Pond's Cold Cream thoroughly removes all makeup, while moisturizing at the same time. 

Sleeping Beauty Tip 3: Exfoliate!

       Many people exfoliate in the morning, which can actually leave your skin more vulnerable to during the day. It's best to cleanse the day off by exfoliating at night, and following up with a moisturizer. A great tool for true exfoliation is the Clarisonic.It gives your face a great deep cleaning, while massaging the skin. Exfoliating and moisturizing your hands and feet at night can truly a go a long way in keeping them youthful, pretty and healthy, not to mention longevity in between mani &pedi dates. Typing, cooking, washing dishes, and roaming the city in heels all day, can take its toll, if you don't take care. Having a healthy beautiful mouth, will truly give you something to smile about! And don't forget to moisturize those lips at night too! Classic Vaseline works great.

          Use these tips and you are guaranteed to be a true sleeping beauty, giving your skin the royal treatment. The coolest thing about a nightly beauty routine as that it gives you time all to yourself before bed to reflect on the day, unwind, and invest in your health and beauty!
